GMKtec has officially released the EVO-X5 Pro, a compact desktop computer engineered for intensive local AI workloads. The system is powered by the AMD Ryzen AI Max+ PRO 495 processor, which includes 16 Zen 5 CPU cores and 32 threads with boost speeds reaching 5.20 GHz. Graphics are handled by an integrated AMD Radeon 8065S GPU featuring 40 compute units and hardware ray tracing capabilities.
A primary feature of the EVO-X5 Pro is its support for up to 192 GB of LPDDR5X-8533 unified memory. This architecture provides a memory bandwidth of 273 GB/s, with the system capable of dynamically allocating up to 160 GB for the integrated graphics. GMKtec states that recent engineering optimizations allow the platform to support offline inference for large language models with up to 320 billion parameters, exceeding the original design target of 300 billion.
The desktop is designed for enterprise and professional use, incorporating AMD DASH for out-of-band remote management and a dedicated dTPM 2.0 security chip. The hardware is validated for continuous 24/7 operation, making it suitable for research institutions and developers who require sustained performance. To manage thermals during heavy compute tasks, the chassis utilizes a vapor chamber and a triple-fan cooling system.
Connectivity options on the EVO-X5 Pro include two USB4 V2 ports capable of 80 Gbps, two standard USB4 ports at 40 Gbps, and dual 10GbE LAN ports. The system supports multi-system clustering and external GPU expansion to scale resources for more demanding projects. Storage configurations are available up to 24 TB, and the device supports display outputs up to 8K resolution.
The EVO-X5 Pro is available starting September 28, 2026. The base configuration, which includes 192 GB of RAM and a 2 TB NVMe SSD, is priced at $6,799. A higher-capacity model featuring 192 GB of RAM and a 4 TB NVMe SSD is priced at $7,099.
