Apple has released the second developer beta builds for its major software platforms, including iOS 27.2, macOS Golden Gate 27.2, iPadOS 27.2, tvOS 27.2, visionOS 27.2, and watchOS 27.2. These updates arrive just five days after the initial beta release and follow the public launch of the primary iOS 27 and macOS Golden Gate milestone versions on September 14.
The company is bypassing a 27.1 release for most hardware, as that version is specifically reserved for the iPhone Duo. Apple has already provided the iOS 27.1 SDK to developers, which includes the necessary tools and simulators to optimize applications for the display architecture of the new foldable iPhone model.
The second beta cycle introduces updated build numbers across the board. iOS 27.2 and iPadOS 27.2 are now at build 24B5089g, while macOS Golden Gate 27.2 has moved to 26B5091g. Other platforms, including tvOS, watchOS, and visionOS, have also received corresponding build increments to address ongoing development needs.
Initial features introduced in the 27.2 cycle include a redesigned Health app, which integrates with the Apple Watch Ultra 4 and Apple Watch Series 12. Additionally, FaceTime has gained dual capture support, and Siri AI has expanded its language localization to include French, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese, and Spanish. The update also brings Apple TV app profiles to the iPhone and introduces interface refinements to Apple Podcasts and Apple Music.
While these builds are now available to registered developers through the System Settings app, Apple continues to advise against installing beta software on primary devices. The company suggests that users interested in testing prerelease software should utilize secondary hardware to avoid potential bugs or system instability that can occur during the development process.
