Arm has developed the AGI CPU, marking the company's first complete server processor offering rather than just licensing intellectual property (IP) or compute subsystems (CSS). Designed for hyperscale cloud and AI workloads, the processor features up to 136 Arm Neoverse V3 cores built on a 3nm process node. Each core includes a dedicated 2MB L2 cache, with the CPU targeting a 300-watt thermal design power (TDP) and maximum clock speeds of up to 3.7 GHz. The chip utilizes a dual-chiplet design that integrates memory and I/O controllers on the same die, achieving sub-100ns memory latency. It supports DDR5-8800 memory, 96 lanes of PCIe Gen 6, and CXL 3.0 for memory expansion. The processor is currently undergoing validation at Arm's Automated Test Equipment (ATE) Lab in Austin, Texas, alongside failure analysis and bring-up facilities. Meta has already selected the AGI CPU for its infrastructure. Arm plans to continue this product line with the AGI CPU 2 on CSS V4 in 2027, followed by a third-generation processor on CSS V5.
The AGI CPU is Arm's first complete, production-ready server processor designed for customers who do not want to build their own silicon. The processor features up to 136 Arm Neoverse V3 cores fabricated on a 3nm process node.
