Apple Intelligence features for home cameras require specific iCloud+ subscription tiers

Apple has introduced Apple Intelligence features for HomeKit-compatible cameras, enabling automated video summaries, natural language search, and event stitching. These features are distinct from existing HomeKit Secure Video (HKSV) capabilities and require specific, higher-tier iCloud+ subscriptions to function. While HKSV provides 10 days of encrypted storage for people, animals, vehicles, and package detection, Apple Intelligence adds advanced analysis to generate descriptive summaries of recorded activity. The availability of these features is tied to the user's iCloud+ plan: the 2TB plan supports Apple Intelligence for one camera, the 6TB plan for two cameras, and the 12TB plan for up to five cameras. Users must manually enable these features within the Apple Home app settings. Notably, camera recordings do not count against the user's total iCloud storage limit, allowing the allotted space to be used for other data. These features are currently limited to a maximum of five cameras, regardless of the subscription tier, and are subject to change based on future updates and system demand.

Apple Intelligence for home cameras provides automated summaries, natural language search, and event stitching for recorded clips. These new AI features are separate from existing HomeKit Secure Video capabilities and have different subscription requirements.

The 2TB iCloud+ plan supports Apple Intelligence for one camera, while the 6TB plan supports two cameras. The 12TB iCloud+ plan is required to enable Apple Intelligence for up to five cameras.

Camera recordings stored in iCloud do not count against the user's total iCloud storage capacity. Apple Intelligence features are currently limited to a maximum of five cameras per account.
