Raspberry Pi launches 10-inch Touch Display 2 for $80

Raspberry Pi has expanded its display ecosystem with the release of a 10-inch version of the Touch Display 2. Priced at $80, the new model joins the existing 5-inch and 7-inch variants, offering a larger surface area intended for applications such as digital signage, home automation dashboards, and custom kiosks.

The display features a 1200 x 1920 pixel resolution and supports up to ten-finger touch input, an upgrade from the five-finger limit found on the smaller models. It provides an 85-degree viewing angle and a maximum brightness of 400 cd/m2. The unit measures 161.8 x 247.3 mm, with an active display area of 135.4 x 216.6 mm.

Compatibility is restricted to the Raspberry Pi 5 and Compute Modules, as the display requires four DSI lanes to handle its higher resolution. This differs from the two-lane requirement of the 5-inch and 7-inch models, which remain compatible with older Raspberry Pi hardware. Users of the Compute Module will need an IO Board or a similar motherboard to provide the necessary display connector and power.

Integration with the Raspberry Pi OS is designed to be straightforward, with full driver support available out of the box. However, users may need to update their system firmware to ensure compatibility. Reports indicate that an EEPROM update from February 2026 or later is required for the display to function correctly with a Raspberry Pi 5.

The display package includes the necessary ribbon cables and mounting hardware to attach a Raspberry Pi directly to the rear of the unit. While the setup process is generally described as simple, users should be aware of potential thermal considerations when mounting a Raspberry Pi 5 directly behind the screen, as the computer can generate significant heat under load.
